A wraparound pincushion

This pin Cushion fastens onto your sewing machine keeps pins in place and at your finger tips. 



Follow the instructions below to make one yourself.

Wraparound Pin Cushion How-To

1. To make your own pattern: 

• For the length, measure the machine's circumference in a spot free of dials, then add 2 1/2 inches. Choose a width that work well with your machine (about 2 to 3 inches) - be sure to add 1/2 inch- for your seams.
• Cut two pieces one for the front(cotton blends will work nicely and the other is your back- be sure to use a thicker, heavy duty fabric, this is because this will help detour your pins from going through all layers and scratching up your machine... You may even want to measure the front of your machine, and cut a light thin piece of plastic, melamine, sheet metal or 1/8 in piece of wood to place directly on the front and behind the batting (inbetween the batting and the fabric next to the machine).

2.  Layer your fabrics- (cotton and heavy duty fabric) right sides together, lay your batting on top of them. 

3. Sew along three sides, leaving 1/4-inch seam allowance. Turn right side out, and top stitch around all four sides, 1/4 inch from edge.

4. Sew strips of Velcro(R)  to ends on opposite sides.

5.  And your finished... great job and have "Sew" much fun with this project.
